The number of Portuguese people accessing the Internet through mobile devices has continued to increase.
According to Marktest’s latest Telecommunications Barometer, there are 5 million and 876 thousand individuals accessing the Internet through mobile phones, a figure that has quadrupled in the last five years and corresponds to 61.5% of Portuguese people aged 10 and over.
The use of the internet in mobile devices in December 2012, had a penetration rate of 13.5% for the current 60%.
The Marktest study shows that it is the youngest, in the age range of 15-34, that uses the phone the most to surf the internet (91.5%), which is a 50% above average rate.
The trend is also more pronounced among the upper classes, with values around 83.5%, compared to the lowest classes, with values of around 50%.
