Portuguese are on vacation but took the smartphone and social networks in the luggage
In the study “Technology without Vacations”, 89% of respondents pointed to the smartphone as the technology used during the holidays to analyze how technology impacts Portuguese vacations. The camera was pointed by 8% of the sample, followed by the computer (2%) and tablet (1%).
During holidays, the smartphone is mostly used to view and take photos (92%), see social networks (89%) and see emails (69%). Maps (85%), travel guides (39%) and hotel reservations (38%) are the most popular applications.
In terms of frequency of use of social networks, 94% of respondents say they access Facebook every day or almost every day and 76% access all or almost every day to Instagram.
One of the reasons for choosing the holiday destination was to allow good photographs to be shared on social networks.
Almost 90% state that photos shared on social networks are made through the smartphone.
